It doesn't look it in this picture but Foh San is actually quite big. 3 shoplots large in fact. No worries about the service though, they have plenty of waitresses and plenty of dim sum carts going around.
Foh San serves an impressive variety of dim sum. There were 8 of us but we could not try them all.
More Dim Sum. I didn't take too many pictures of the food.
They had great variety (with a lot of stuff you can't find in KL). Carts kept coming with things we have not tried. Their dim sum fillings were also very impressive. Where in KL you get something like one miserable prawns in a 'ha mai' here you get something like two of three big ones in them. Their price was pretty reasonable too. It was only RM90+ for the 8 of us.
If you're ever down in Ipoh be sure to come here for breakfast.
Note: I'm not familiar with Ipoh so unfortunately I cannot offer directions.

Foh San is famous for its dear prices. I'm an Ipoh-lang, that's why I know for sure. Oh well, that doesn't matter to some rich KL folks.
Try Fook Yoke Moon, the same row as Excelsior. They serve good dim sum also. ;)

do you know they have a branch in SS2? Though it's nothing close to the one in Ipoh. But then again, their standard have really dropped in recent years.

Yeah, they had a branch in SS2 but it's now closed. Anyone knows if they shifted or they have permanently closed? Although they never served good dim sum, it was pretty good for their dishes.
On Foh San in Ipoh, did u try Funny Mountain Tau Foo Fah across the road from it? Very nice and smooth.

howsy: erm... it's really cheap leh if you compare to KL standards.
v0ices: yeah... the SS2 branch isn't all that great.
boo_licious: Closed ah? Haven't been there in ages. I really wanted to try the Funny Mountain tau foo fah but it was not open that day... what a waste.

I had the chance to try out at Foh San last Sunday for the 1st time. Unfortunately, I have to say it will be my last!
The dim sum is NOT tasty at all. I can say that dim sum in Puchong are far much better. The environment there actually puts you off...how can you possibly enjoy your dim sum when you have people standing right at your back as though hurrying you to vacate your table??
To all visitors to Ipoh, please heed my advice not to have dim sum there. Even those from Ipoh who knows what is good dim sum have avoid this place. So, please do not be deaf..Say "No" to Foh San dim sum.

i took your advice and tried there last week. I love the prawn dumpling. Voluptous. Each piece has 3 prawns inside. Remember to look before you put in your mouth.
Try also the "Sang Yuk" Pau and "Kai" Pau. Very original taste.
Will go there again.
Suggest to go on weekdays.
