I've been meaning to update this almost-a-food-blog blog for quite some time but as President and life long member of the Procrastinator's Club of Malaysia I've got to set a good example :)
So today I'll tell you about something called Charmy Snow Ice that's available at all 100 Yen shops throughout Malaysia (or at least I think they are though I can confirm at least that they're in the SS2 and Puchong branch).
Apparently these delectable shaved iced desserts originated from Taiwan, the land of many good snacks. They aren't your normal ais kacang and I think they're even nicer than the 'sai mai lo' that KTZ serves. Why, you ask?
The shaved ice is made from cubes of frozen juice whereas usually people would just use blocks of frozen plain water. This makes every bite tasty! Their ice is also shaved very thin. So thin that its got a very unique texture. It's silky smooth and melts in your mouth instantly. Aside from that they usually top the thing up with slices of fruit and generous servings of fruit syrup.

My personal favourite is the Mango flavoured one. Do try it out. I don't know of any other place selling shaved ice like this.
